When Pandas Dream

for everyone

"Memories play a very confusing role. They make you laugh when you remember the time you cried together, but make you cry when you remember the time you laughed together."

The theme for week two of GM T's Group Writing Project is: "MMORPG Top 5". After much deliberations, I write here the top five most memorable moments that I had in pRO. As you can notice (after reading the list), all of them are memories I had with our guild. Maybe I will continue the list (6-10) in my future posts (when I have the time XD)..

5. The Patatas Squad Bingo Tournament.

This happened around April 2007, when I was very much depressed. I was in alternating moods of being supportive to our guild and not. The Patatas Squad (a group from our division, similar to the high council) initiated a guild-wide Bingo event. This was held through Hugel’s Bingo Tournament. to be declared the winner, the contestants had to win in their respective elimination rounds and defeat the guild master.

I remembered during the final round, when each number was announced, our guild master would type in "Bingo", amusing us (the spectators) and making the other contestants panic. It took us three rounds before a winner was declared. It wasn’t really my idea to have such an event, but I volunteered to oversee the game and to make sure that it would go on smoothly.

I also remembered the confusion that we had days prior to the event, as it was hard to finalize the rules, prizes, etc. We even made a plan in case there was a lot of people who is interested in joining. But when the actual event started, only around half the target number of participants joined. So much for making simple things complicated..

4. Tanked by our Guild Master.

I was but a thief back then, and we asked our guild master to tank us. We went to Comodo fields (where there were alligators and poison spores) and he gladly helped us. Unfortunately, even when he used provoke on the alligators, they would sometimes attack us, and of course, we died. Asking if any of us had brought yggdrasil leaves and finding out that none of us did, he volunteered to get some and asked us to wait (since it would be faster if he was the one who went back, being on a Peco-peco). After around 10 seconds, he returned, much to our amazement. Then, we found out that he just hit the character select button (forgetting it was not siege XD), thinking that he would respawn to the last save point.. Hehehe.. Adik lang talaga GM namin wahahaha!! *peace*

3. My birthday last year.

It was the first time we killed Vesper. Despite the fact that we nearly got wiped out, and only one of us managed to hide and then resu us all. Aside from that, the first agit that was taken that day was for the guild that greeted me happy birthday. Ah.. Such memories. :)

2. My last siege as a member of Zero Gravity.

The last siege of ZG (March 20,2007), I used my knight. He was the first character I ever used for siege, and I decided to use him for the last one. It was a rather sad day, but memorable as well. It was one time that I really fought for our guild, and felt quite proud of being a member of our guild. Kahit na knight lang gamit ko, I was able to contribute to the defense and also on the offensive end.

It was also the time when we watched the movie 300. So parang na feel ko talaga yung paggamit ko sa knight. And I often compare our guild (or my party, at the very least) to the group of 300 warriors who fought to the end. Old posts related to this can be read here.

1. When I joined Zero Gravity!!

It was the day before Christmas, and the day after my first character turned 99. I was kind of unprepared for that day, since it was a mere 5 minutes before the actual siege that I got invited into the guild. I was not even familiar with the guild before that, and I also did not know the SOP (tambayan, warp area, save point, etc.). There was only a few of us, since the division that I happened to join was new. But then again, it was memorable. We had both offense and defense, but at the last minute, our agit was taken. It was payon 01 (Chun Dan). After that siege, I was contemplating whether to leave the guild or not; it was good thing I did not, as until now, I still remain with that guild. :)
